[Saba Sports News] Damian Lillard is reportedly making encouraging strides in his recovery from a recent blood-clot diagnosis.
On *The Pat McAfee Show* Wednesday, ESPN’s Shams Charania shared an important update on the Milwaukee Bucks star. According to Charania, Lillard’s blood clot is diminishing, and he’s hopeful to be cleared for full-contact activity within the next 7–10 days.
Charania also revealed that Lillard began treatment before a formal diagnosis was even made, which has helped doctors feel optimistic about his progress.
Just over a week ago, the 34-year-old guard was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in his right calf. He was immediately placed on blood thinners, which stabilized the clot.
Given how serious blood clots can be—potentially career-threatening—many assumed Lillard would be sidelined for the remainder of the season. But Charania’s update offers hope that a postseason return might be on the table.
Lillard hasn’t played since March 18, and the Bucks have gone 3-4 in his absence. With the regular season wrapping up on April 13, Milwaukee currently sits sixth in the East at 41-34.
While Lillard’s long-term health remains the priority—especially considering the NBA’s past with blood-clot cases—he may be inching closer to a surprise return for the playoffs.
