[Saba Sports News] Malaysian badminton veteran Chang Kim Wai recently revealed explosive news during a media interview, stating that he has received an invitation from the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to serve as an assistant coach and is currently seriously considering it. Chang Kim Wai said, “I previously served as Rexy’s assistant coach, but now he is the Coaching Director. So, if I decide to return, the position would likely be assistant coach. Although I’m not yet sure if I’ll be assigned to the men’s doubles or another group, it’s confirmed that I will be responsible for coaching the doubles events.” Chang Kim Wai has extensive coaching experience. He was a men’s doubles player for the Malaysian national team from 1996 to 2003, served as a coach for the Malaysian national team from 2004 to 2017, and also held the position of Head Coach at the Lee Chong Wei Academy. His return is expected to pass on his years of accumulated experience to the new generation of players and could positively impact the technical and tactical levels of Malaysian badminton players. The editor believes that if Chang Kim Wai returns to BAM, he could play an important role in building Malaysia’s badminton talent pipeline and lay the foundation for the long-term development of the sport in the country.
