[Saba Sports News] Reports indicate that the world junior champions Kang Khai Xing/Aaron Tai are still adapting to the “no lifting” tactics implemented by men’s doubles head coach Herry Iman Pierngadi. Since taking office on February 1, Pierngadi has introduced a strategy that emphasizes the importance of the first three strokes, encouraging players to attack early in the match and minimize defensive lifts. Currently ranked 55th in the world, the Malaysian men’s doubles pair Kang/Aaron struggled to adapt to this tactic at the German Open and Orleans Masters, resulting in first-round exits. Kang expressed frustration with his performance and has discussed this in-depth with Pierngadi, hoping to execute the tactical plan better in future competitions. Not only Kang/Aaron but other men’s doubles players in the Malaysian national team are also facing similar challenges. National team coaching director Rexy Mainaky pointed out that the early exit of the world-ranked 5th pair Aaron Chia Teng Fong/Soh Wooi Yik at the All England Open reflects that the players are still adapting to Pierngadi’s “no lifting” strategy.
