[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United players have adopted high-tech jackets to cope with extreme heat. Recently, the team completed their first public training session in the US at Chicago’s Soldier Field. Despite a slight relief from the initial 42°C heat index earlier in the week, players were still instructed on using these silver cooling jackets. Developed by Adidas, the jackets will be utilized during the Premier League Summer Series, with plans for players to wear them post-warm-up and at halftime in their upcoming match against West Ham. United is testing this major cooling-tech breakthrough, part of Adidas’ ongoing performance innovation strategy. An upgraded version has already been used by F1 drivers and cyclists in high-temperature environments, with heat-resistant materials ensuring body-cooling during training. The growing need for thermal stress management is evident—several clubs couldn’t train properly during the Club World Cup’s early stages, while substitutes from Dortmund and Bayern Munich repeatedly retreated to locker rooms to escape the heat. As FIFA’s long-term partner, Adidas expects these jackets to become standard equipment for teams at next year’s World Cup.
