[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, FIFA has signed a $1 billion broadcasting contract for the Club World Cup with renowned broadcaster DAZN, which means that Manchester City and Chelsea are expected to receive bonuses of up to £60 million from the tournament next summer. It is reported that Manchester City and Chelsea have been informed that their participation bonuses will be between £50 million and £60 million following the signing of the broadcasting agreement. For context, many top European clubs earn only around £6 million from their summer friendlies each year. Reports suggest that European clubs will receive a higher share of the Club World Cup participation bonuses compared to clubs from other continents. Some analysts believe this move by FIFA may be aimed at encouraging European clubs to field their strongest squads for the tournament. Additionally, the Club World Cup will provide subsidies to the football associations of the 32 participating clubs, with the amount determined by the number of sponsors and their contributions. FIFA hopes to find ten major partners, but has currently only secured three. Thus, it seems that European elite clubs stand to gain significantly from participating in the Club World Cup.
