The report states that for each win in the group stage, a team earns £1.73 million, and for each draw, £580,000. This means that Manchester City has only earned £5.76 million out of a total £10.76 million in bonuses. In contrast, Liverpool has already received full bonuses after winning their first six matches, and if they remain unbeaten in the last two matches, they will earn an additional £3.46 million. It appears that Manchester City will need to play an additional match to reach the round of 16. They are currently ranked 22nd on the points table, and their upcoming matches include an away game against Paris Saint-Germain and a home match against Club Brugge. The 16 teams entering the playoff stage will receive £820,000 in bonuses from UEFA. Each club that makes it to the round of 16 will receive an additional £9.1 million in bonuses. Manchester City has reached the knockout stage of the Champions League for the past 11 seasons. Failing to reach the round of 16 would be a huge blow to the club’s reputation and finances.
