[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens is dedicated to training. Not only does he voluntarily request extra sessions on his days off, but he has also been spotted by two different coaches training alone in the gym at 1 AM and midnight, respectively. Beyond his extreme self-discipline, Lammens is also a highly superstitious player. His brother and former coach confirmed that one must never mention a “clean sheet” to him before a match, as he believes it brings bad luck. Additionally, he follows a fixed pre-match routine, including fist bumps with teammates and coaches, having his water bottle handed to him specifically by a coach, and always placing the bottle on the same side of the goal. This seemingly calm goalkeeper has also had moments when his “anger” was insufficient. His goalkeeping coach at Antwerp revealed that Lammens was initially “very quiet.” To stimulate his leadership qualities, the coaching staff designed a “power program” for him, including boxing and reaction light board training, and even edited videos of his roaring “beast expressions” after saves to motivate him. More surprisingly, Lammens’ football career began as a striker. His excellent foot skills even allow him to play as a midfielder in training, and he performs quite well.
