[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United is negotiating a new training kit sponsorship deal worth more than £18 million. It is reported that Manchester United is holding in-depth talks with bookmaker Betway over a sponsorship agreement. If reached, Betway will become the club’s training wear sponsor starting next season. The Betway logo is set to feature on the sportswear worn by Manchester United players during daily training sessions at the club’s training ground, and will also appear in officially released club photographs. Should this multi-year agreement be finalised as planned, it will draw a formal close to more than 12 months of lengthy negotiations. Manchester United’s previous training kit sponsorship with blockchain firm Tezos expires in June 2025. Although that three-year deal brought in £24 million in annual revenue for United, club executives have refused to rush into a replacement. Instead, they have patiently sought an agreement they regard as good value amid the current market climate.
The editor believes that starting next season, the Premier League will ban betting firms from front-of-shirt sponsorships. As a result, it is expected that more clubs will turn to bookmakers as their training kit sponsors in the future. Manchester United have been without a training kit sponsor for the past year. The club has been unwilling to rush into a deal and has rejected any offers below its expected valuation.
