[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United co-owner James Ratcliffe’s recent comments on immigration issues in the UK have garnered widespread attention. Reports indicate that Manchester United players are also very shocked by Ratcliffe’s remarks.
In an interview, Ratcliffe stated, “An economy cannot function when 9 million people are on welfare while a large number of immigrants are pouring in. What I mean is, Britain has been colonized. It’s costing too much money.” The players at Manchester United expressed their surprise at Ratcliffe’s statements, with a veteran player saying he was “lost for words” regarding Ratcliffe’s comments. Another source close to related players noted that Ratcliffe now has many questions to answer.
Currently, the Manchester United first-team squad includes 17 overseas players, and England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has Ghanaian roots, while young local center-back Ayden Heaven’s mother is also from Ghana. Ratcliffe has since publicly apologized for his comments.
