[Saba Sports News] According to UK media reports, other Premier League teams believe Manchester United will have to sell youth players to comply with profitability and sustainability rules. Currently, all 20 Premier League clubs have not faced any charges regarding profitability and sustainability rules in the 2023-2024 season, but Manchester United’s financial losses mean that if they cannot qualify for the Champions League next season, they are expected to have little maneuvering space. Selling a homegrown player developed by the club who can generate “pure profit” would help improve Manchester United’s position regarding profitability and sustainability rules, with Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo, and Alejandro Garnacho all belonging to Manchester United’s youth training system. Clubs interested in Manchester United players believe it is more likely that Manchester United will complete a deal in the remaining three weeks of this month’s transfer window rather than waiting until the end of the season, as United’s negotiating position will significantly decline after the season ends. Manchester United reported a net loss of £113.2 million for the 2023-2024 season, following a loss of £28.7 million for the 2022-2023 season. According to the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules, a club’s losses cannot exceed £105 million over a three-year period.
