[Saba Sports News] Stephon Marbury, the “Kid from Coney Island,” took aim at LeBron James, the “Kid from Akron,” after a perceived snub at the Paris Olympics.
While sitting courtside during Team USA’s gold medal win, Marbury tried to greet LeBron, who appeared to ignore him while chatting with Carmelo Anthony.
In response, Marbury unleashed a series of critical social media posts, arguing that LeBron didn’t deserve the FIBA Men’s Olympics MVP award over Steph Curry.
He even suggested that LeBron’s legendary status doesn’t warrant automatic honors and took further jabs by claiming James shouldn’t be compared to Michael Jordan.
Marbury’s critiques seemed to stem from the icy exchange at the Olympics, along with his longstanding criticisms of LeBron, including questioning his place as a “real Laker.”
