[Saba Sports News] According to The Athletic, McLaren F1 Team has ended its long period without a title sponsor by deepening its partnership with Mastercard, signing them as the title sponsor for the 2026 Formula 1 (F1) season. As the current Constructors’ Champions, McLaren has been without a title sponsor since its partnership with Vodafone ended over a decade ago. In 2026, the Woking-based team will be officially renamed the “McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team.” This move makes McLaren the tenth team on the F1 grid with a title sponsor, and Mastercard its official title partner. The cooperation agreement is worth approximately $100 million per season and is effective until the mid-2030s. McLaren stated: “For us, no one is more important than the fans who support us. Therefore, I am incredibly pleased to open this new chapter with Mastercard and also want to make a promise to the global ‘Papaya family’ – we will continue to put fans first, make their connection to the team stronger, and deliver unparalleled experiences for them. Mastercard is an outstanding partner, sharing our passion and values.
