[Saba Sports News] Although the public often compares Max Verstappen with Michael Schumacher, the four-time F1 World Champion has made it clear that he does not intend to make matching or surpassing the seven-time champion his career goal. For Verstappen, while intense focus on the track is important, family life off the track is equally irreplaceable.
The connection between Verstappen and Schumacher is not just a comparison based on statistics, but stems from a genuine family relationship. He revealed that since his father, Jos Verstappen, was teammates with Schumacher at Benetton in 1994, the two families have maintained contact over the years, even vacationing together.
When asked if he sees any similarities between himself and Schumacher, Verstappen answered affirmatively. He believes that both share a highly consistent trait on the track: an absolute focus on victory. Both are drivers willing to do anything for success, with the end result being the only thing that matters.
However, unlike Schumacher, Verstappen does not plan to stay in F1 for the long term. While Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton continued to compete after turning 40, Verstappen has repeatedly stated that he does not wish to still be in F1 at that age. He revealed that he is also interested in challenges outside of motorsport, with family being the core of his life.
