[Saba Sports News] Red Bull driver Max Verstappen will lead a nine-member team to participate in the virtual Daytona 24-hour endurance race taking place this weekend. This virtual race will be held on the iRacing simulator platform before the actual Daytona 24-hour race. Reports indicate that Verstappen will drive a BMW M4 GT3 car and will compete under the Team Redline banner, the same team he represented during the 2024 virtual Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race. The Daytona 24-hour endurance race is one of North America’s classic endurance events, usually held on the last weekend of January or the first weekend of February at the Daytona International Speedway, known as the “World Center of Racing.” The world-renowned watch brand Rolex has sponsored the event since 1992. Winners in each category not only receive a championship trophy but also a Rolex Daytona watch. This event has now become part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Similar to other endurance races, each driver in the Daytona 24-hour race is subject to driving time limits, with the maximum driving time for any driver set at 13 hours and a maximum of 4 hours in any 6-hour period.
