[Saba Sports News] As Max Verstappen’s chase intensifies and the points gap between him and the two leading McLaren F1 drivers rapidly closes, Verstappen even stands a strong chance of winning all remaining Grand Prix races. Under these circumstances, if Oscar Piastri were to lose a single second-place finish, he would hand the F1 drivers’ championship to Verstappen. However, even in this situation, the McLaren F1 team has not changed its decision to help its two drivers win the F1 world championship. McLaren F1 team principal Andrea Stella stated in a media interview that the team still will not change its plans and will not introduce any upgrades for the upcoming races. Furthermore, Stella confidently expressed that he believes the current McLaren car still has sufficient speed to fight for the championship and that there is enough performance potential to extract, enough for them to secure the world championship. Perhaps winning the F1 Constructors’ Championship has filled the entire McLaren F1 team with confidence. Judging by Stella’s attitude, he completely disregards Red Bull or Verstappen. He might think Verstappen’s performance is just a flash in the pan, but it’s clear to most that the current situation is very serious for the McLaren F1 team.
