[Saba Sports News] The McLaren team has been performing strongly lately, and their car’s rear wing has become a focal point of external attention. Even without activating DRS, McLaren’s rear wing features two planes that slightly separate to reduce drag and increase speed on straights. Their design has attracted considerable interest from rival teams, with some even considering imitating it. Recently, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff discussed this matter in a media interview, stating that his team would not consider such imitation. Wolff said, “Our team will not imitate McLaren’s design; although it may not seem like a wise decision, Mercedes will develop its car in its own style.” Before the Singapore race, there was intense debate about whether McLaren’s design was illegal, with some teams urging the FIA for clarification on this issue, to which the FIA subsequently responded. McLaren has consistently emphasized that all their designs have undergone rigorous checks by the FIA and are fully compliant.
