[Saba Sports News] Recently, the Mexican Motorsport Federation condemned Liam Lawson for his action of narrowly missing two marshals during the F1 Mexican Grand Prix. After a collision on the first lap, marshals were dispatched to the exit of Turn 1 to clear debris. Liam Lawson, whose car was damaged, pitted at the end of the first lap. As he returned to the track, he nearly collided with two marshals who were still clearing debris. The FIA stated that it had sent messages to all marshals’ posts informing them that Lawson had pitted and was separated from the main pack, while also insisting it would continue to investigate why marshals were still on the track when Lawson returned. However, the Mexican Motorsport Federation has conducted an independent review of the incident and determined that Liam Lawson drove inappropriately. The Mexican Motorsport Federation wrote in a statement: “It must be pointed out that Scuderia AlphaTauri informed the driver that there was debris on the track and that double yellow flags were in effect for that sector. Therefore, he should have exercised extreme caution when passing through that area. Consequently, the driver must significantly reduce speed, not overtake, and be prepared to stop if necessary to comply with the current safety regulations.”
