[Saba Sports News] New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell is gearing up for his return to cricketing action after successfully recovering from an Achilles injury.
Bracewell had ruptured his Achilles tendon while playing for Worcestershire in the English T20 Blast in June. The injury required surgery, which ruled him out of the ODI World Cup 2023.
After undergoing a rehabilitation process in the last six months, Bracewell is now sitting on the cusp of making his comeback.
He is scheduled to take the field for the Wellington Firebirds for the clash scheduled against Auckland in the Super Smash T20 competition on Thursday.
It is positive news for New Zealand as Bracewell is well in their plans for the upcoming T20 World Cup, slated to take place in the Caribbean and the USA in June-July.
However, as the Kiwi is yet to prove his fitness, he has not been included in the Black Caps squad for the five-match T20I series versus Pakistan, starting January 12.
