[Saba Sports News] Michael Jordan has officially sold his custom-built mansion at 2700 Point Lane in Highland Park, Chicago, after a staggering 12 years on the market. Originally listed in 2012 for $29 million, the price gradually dropped to $9.5 million before finally finding a buyer.
The sale, confirmed by NBC Chicago through Katherine Malkin of Compass Realty, marks the end of Jordan’s prolonged effort to offload the estate.
The property, built in 1994, spans an impressive 56,000 square feet on 8.4 acres of land and was tailored to honor the basketball legend—complete with his iconic number 23 on the front gates.
The mansion, where Jordan lived during the Bulls’ second three-peat (1996–1998), includes nine bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, five fireplaces, a regulation-sized basketball gym, a 500-bottle wine cellar, a cigar parlor, tennis courts, a circular infinity pool, a movie theater, and a putting green. Despite its luxury, the highly personalized design proved to be a challenge in finding a buyer, with many interested parties more focused on touring the home of the GOAT than seriously purchasing.
Jordan, who owned the land since 1991, reportedly spent over $1.8 million in property taxes during the home’s long market tenure. At one point, he even offered a full set of every Air Jordan sneaker ever released as part of the deal.
The mansion’s cultural significance extended beyond its price tag. A viral internet house tour and even a break-in incident in April 2023 kept it in the public eye.
Now, with the property sold, Jordan can finally move on, and the new owner can decide whether to customize the legendary home or start fresh.
