[Saba Sports News] Mick Schumacher, the son of seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher, updated his social media to announce that he will leave the Mercedes F1 team after the 2024 season but did not disclose his destination for next season. In 2022, after being dropped by the Haas F1 team, Mick Schumacher has not been able to secure a main driver seat in F1 again. This season, he has served as a reserve driver for the Mercedes F1 team. Recently, several authoritative media outlets confirmed that Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas will return to the Mercedes F1 team as a reserve driver next season. Therefore, Mick Schumacher will have to look for other opportunities. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff also updated social media, expressing gratitude and well-wishes to Mick Schumacher, hoping for his success in future challenges. Some fans noted that Mick Schumacher participated in the Alpine team’s super car WEC project this year, and if he cannot find opportunities in F1, he may choose to join the Alpine team.
