[Saba Sports News] Lando Norris’ performance at the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix once again raised questions, even though he showed good speed during the race, his mistake in Q3 and collision in the race prompted former McLaren driver Juan Pablo Montoya to publicly express concern. Montoya believed that Norris had psychological problems in the Q3 stage, causing a loss of control over his state. If this issue is not resolved, it will severely affect his chances of competing for the world championship. In the qualifying session at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Norris failed to convert his excellent rhythm into results, finishing seventh. During the race, he unnecessarily collided with teammate Oscar Piastri while trying to overtake him. As a result, Piastri took fourth place, Norris not only retired but also fell 22 points behind on the drivers’ championship standings. Andrea Stella, the team principal of McLaren, does not believe Norris has psychological issues; he emphasized that the team will not change its free competition principles based on one team collision, but also made it clear that drivers must leave room for each other in close battles to avoid further accidents.
