[Saba Sports News] The Dallas Mavericks were hit with yet another tough injury blow during Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
With just over two minutes remaining in the game at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California—and the Mavs trailing 108–83—guard Jaden Hardy drove to the basket and landed awkwardly after kicking the ball out to a teammate. He immediately winced in pain, clutching both his right ankle and knee.
Hardy had to be helped off the court by team trainers and was taken straight to the locker room.
At the time of his exit, Hardy had put together a strong performance with 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists off the bench. His injury, coming in the closing minutes of a game that was already out of reach, only added to the frustration for Mavericks fans. The 22-year-old had recently been a key contributor off the bench, averaging 13.5 points over his last six games.
Injuries have been a recurring theme for Dallas this season. With Kyrie Irving and Dante Exum already sidelined, a potential loss of Hardy would further thin the Mavericks’ rotation.
Dallas did receive some good news recently regarding Anthony Davis—but he, too, was ruled out Friday with a groin issue, adding to the Mavs’ ongoing health woes.
