[Saba Sports News] MS Dhoni, the celebrated former captain of the Indian cricket team, has been invited to the prestigious Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22. This invitation follows those extended to cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli for the same event, which celebrates the return of Ram Lalla (infant Lord Ram).
Dhananjay Singh, the co-province secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and Karmaveer Singh, the State Organization General Secretary of BJP, personally delivered the invitation to Dhoni. The two-time World Cup-winning captain graciously accepted and expressed his gratitude to the Shri Ram Temple Trust and the inviters.
The Ram Temple Trust has extended invitations to over 7,000 distinguished individuals, including Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, business tycoons Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, and various other VVIPs.
The event will also be attended by families of ‘Kar sevaks’ who lost their lives in Ayodhya, as well as saints, priests, religious leaders, retired civil servants, army officers, lawyers, musicians, and recipients of Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several international VVIPs are expected to attend the historic ceremony.
Pre-ceremony Vedic rituals will commence a week earlier, starting January 16, with the main consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla conducted by priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit from Varanasi on January 22.
In the realm of cricket, Dhoni is set to return to action in the IPL 2024, leading the Chennai Super Kings. After clinching their fifth IPL title in 2023, the upcoming season is anticipated to be Dhoni’s farewell, drawing fans across India to celebrate his illustrious career.
