[Saba Sports News] Recently, Bayern Munich officially announced the renewal of veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer’s contract until 2026. This marks Neuer’s sixth contract renewal with Bayern Munich, and if he completes the new contract, he will surpass legendary goalkeepers Sepp Maier and Oliver Kahn in terms of years served in the Bundesliga. According to German media reports, Neuer’s new contract is largely linked to his performance. Neuer’s previous contract had an annual salary of €20 million, but considering he has promised to give up some matches for young goalkeeper Jonas Kurt Urbig, Neuer’s future salary will be lower than this figure. Reports indicate that Alexander Nübel is unlikely to be affected by Neuer’s renewal. Neuer is expected to retire after his contract expires, while Nübel’s loan to Stuttgart will also run until 2026. It appears Neuer will end his career after Nübel’s loan period concludes. However, one thing is clear: Urbig has the chance to prove himself as Bayern Munich’s number one goalkeeper through his performances in the new season, leaving Nübel with almost no room.
