[Saba Sports News] Tyrese Maxey sustained a hamstring injury during the Philadelphia 76ers’ game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, sidelining him for at least two weeks, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Maxey exited in the third quarter, visibly limping, and the 76ers later confirmed he would not return due to hamstring soreness. The team plans to be cautious with Maxey, who recently signed a 5-year, $204 million extension.
The 76ers have struggled with injuries in their 1-6 start. Paul George, who missed early games with a knee injury, made his season debut on Monday, and Joel Embiid, also out with a knee issue and suspension, is expected to return next Tuesday against the Knicks.
Maxey, averaging 27.6 points per game, had been logging significant minutes with other stars out. Now, he’ll shift his focus to recovery.
