[Saba Sports News] New information has come to light regarding the recent passing of ex-NBA forward Brandon Hunter. Hunter’s mother-in-law, Carolyn Cliett, revealed that he tragically passed away after collapsing during a hot yoga session at a studio in Orlando, Florida. Cliett mentioned that Hunter was a regular participant in hot yoga and appeared to be in good shape, making his sudden death all the more shocking.
Brandon Hunter, who passed away at the age of 42, had a college basketball career at Ohio University where he led the NCAA in rebounding during his senior season in 2002-03. He was subsequently selected in the second round of the 2003 NBA Draft and played two seasons in the league, first with the Boston Celtics and later with the Orlando Magic.
Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 266 pounds during his playing career, Hunter later continued his basketball career professionally overseas for nearly a decade.
After retiring as a player, he ventured into real estate, sports agent work, and coaching. He is survived by his wife Mary and their three children.
