[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Newcastle United will leave St. James’ Park to build a new stadium with a capacity of 65,000. The club is exploring options to expand their current 52,000-seat stadium located in the city center, but they have now decided to move to a new site near Leazes Park, where capacity will be increased by 13,000 seats. Reports state that Newcastle will submit plans for the new stadium to the UK government, an ambitious project that will create hundreds of jobs while injecting funds into the local economy. The design of Newcastle’s new stadium will reportedly be similar to the Wembley Stadium’s Wembley Way and will feature a trendy “bubble wrap” design, similar to the one used by Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena. However, it is still unclear how much this ambitious project will cost at this stage, with early estimates around £3 billion. Newcastle had considered staying at St. James’ Park and expanding it to over 60,000 seats. However, building a brand-new stadium is seen as the best way to maximize new revenue. Newcastle has been at St. James’ Park since 1892, and it remains one of the most iconic stadiums in English football.
