[Saba Sports News] According to Brazilian media reports, Neymar Junior, whose contract expires in June, recently held in-depth negotiations with Santos regarding his renewal, and both parties are likely to extend the contract until 2026. After leaving Al Nassr in January and returning to Santos, Neymar signed a five-month short-term contract. Including salary and image rights income, the player receives 21 million Brazilian reais per month (approximately €3.2 million). The total amount of the contract is equivalent to 25% of the club’s budget for this season. Despite the high cost, Santos remains confident because it can increase revenue through additional sponsorships and marketing activities. It is reported that according to the contract, Neymar earns 4.14 million Brazilian reais per month (approximately €650,000). Regarding marketing and image rights usage, Santos must pay at least 85 million Brazilian reais (approximately €133.9 million) to Neymar and his father’s company. Regardless of the income level, this payment must be settled by July 30 of this year; if the target is not met, Santos will need to cover the shortfall itself. For previously existing sponsorships, if the sponsorship amount increases after Neymar joins, 75% of the increase goes to NR Sports, Neymar’s company. For newly signed sponsorships, NR Sports receives 75% of the new sponsorship amounts, while Santos receives the remaining 25%.
