Saba Sports News] In the recent Premier League second-round match, Liverpool defeated Newcastle United 3-2 away. Notably, young Liverpool player Rio Ngumoha came on as a substitute and scored the winning goal for the team. At 16 years and 361 days old, he became the youngest goalscorer in Liverpool’s history. This summer, Ngumoha fully participated in first-team pre-season training and played in 5 warm-up matches, scoring 3 goals, two of which were spectacular solo efforts. Before joining Liverpool, Ngumoha was in Chelsea’s academy, where their chief scout referred to him as the “next Messi.” His contract with Chelsea expired last year, and Liverpool seized the opportunity to sign him. Chelsea were very unhappy about this and filed for arbitration with the Premier League. Liverpool will pay a compensation fee for acquiring Ngumoha, though the amount is still unclear. In the first half of last season, Ngumoha played for Liverpool’s U18s. By January, he was promoted to the U21s and made his first-team debut, starting in the FA Cup match against Accrington Stanley. This season, Ngumoha has been officially included in the Liverpool first team.
