[Saba Sports News] Nikola Jokic is already widely regarded as one of the best passers in basketball — but even by his standards, what he pulled off Wednesday night left fans in awe.
Jokic led the Denver Nuggets to a 127-117 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at Ball Arena in Denver, finishing with a monster stat line: 39 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. But it was one assist in particular that stole the spotlight.
Midway through the third quarter, with the Nuggets up 72-66, Jokic took possession and was quickly met by Kyle Kuzma on defense.
As he moved toward the free throw line, another defender shifted over. That’s when Aaron Gordon slipped behind the defense on a backdoor cut — and Jokic, with his back to the play, whipped a stunning no-look, spinning dime straight into Gordon’s hands for an easy dunk.
The angle of the pass made it even more jaw-dropping. Kuzma and Brook Lopez looked completely lost, as if Jokic had just channeled peak Magic Johnson.
At nearly 7 feet tall and close to 300 pounds, Jokic moves like a guard and sees the floor like a chess grandmaster. This season, he’s averaging a career-best 10.3 assists per game — a number that only underscores how absurdly skilled he is.
He rebounds and scores like a dominant center but thinks and passes like a Hall of Fame point guard. It’s ridiculous, in the best way.
