[Saba Sports News] The 2025 Malaysia Masters was in full swing when an unexpected incident occurred. On May 22, an embarrassing scene unfolded: the mixed doubles match had to be interrupted due to oil stains dripping from the roof, with all four courts affected simultaneously. Staff had no choice but to pause the game for cleaning. This sudden situation severely disrupted the athletes’ rhythm; however, the match resumed shortly after ensuring safety. It was reported that this is the second time in half a year that Axiata Arena has had to stop a game due to roof issues, despite the organizers’ assurance beforehand not to repeat past mistakes. In response, Malaysian media criticized: clearly, the stadium management agency did not learn any lessons from the January leakage incident. Remembering the Malaysian Open Badminton Championship (Super1000) in January, Axiata Arena also experienced a leakage event then. At that time, two venues leaked severely, forcing multiple matches to be interrupted or delayed, causing great embarrassment for the organizers and widespread criticism of the stadium management institution in Malaysia.
