[Saba Sports News] Longtime NBA veteran Patrick Beverley is making a surprising career move.
Beverley announced on his “The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone” that he will be playing overseas next season. The 36-year-old has signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv BC of the Israeli Premier League.
Earlier in the week, Beverley mentioned he was deciding between signing with an NBA team for the veteran minimum or accepting a “historic” overseas contract. He chose the latter.
“They gave me everything I asked for … I couldn’t refuse,” Beverley said about the Israeli team’s offer. Last season, he played around 20 minutes per game for the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 6.0 points, 2.6 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game. He also helped the Bucks reach the postseason and felt he deserved a raise.
Several NBA teams were likely interested in Beverley for the veteran minimum, as he remains a valuable rotational player and strong defender. Now, he will showcase his skills in a new league.
