[Saba Sports News] Free agent guard Patrick Beverley provided an intriguing update on his basketball future Sunday via social media.
Beverley posted on X that he is “weighing his options” between a veteran minimum contract in the NBA and a “historic” contract offer to play in Europe. While the specifics of the “historic” contract are unclear, it implies significantly more money than his NBA offer. Beverley hinted he deserves a raise after last year’s minimum salary, but that doesn’t seem forthcoming.
At 36, Beverley remains a valuable rotational player and agitator, averaging 20 minutes per game with the 76ers and Bucks last season. Europe could offer him more playing time and money, though with less prestigious competition.
If Beverley returns to the NBA, he will start the season with a suspension due to a confrontation with a fan.
