Antonio Perez believes that Red Bull has never given his son a fair chance, always prioritizing Max Verstappen. Antonio Perez stated bluntly: “If Checo had the same car as Verstappen, he would be world champion now.” In response, Verstappen’s father, Jos, strongly countered Antonio Perez’s remarks on social media. In an interview with SoyMotor, Antonio Perez said: “Checo has been at Red Bull for four years. How many championships has Red Bull won? Four. It was Checo who made Verstappen champion. If Checo had the same car, he would be world champion now. Red Bull needs him. There was a time he got a good car, he even held off the eight-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.” (Hamilton is actually a seven-time champion). After seeing the reports, Verstappen’s father Jos responded bluntly: “That guy is an idiot. He always had a car of the same specification, he just needed to press the throttle himself.”
