[Saba Sports News] The Italian Anti-Doping Tribunal
has announced that Juventus star Paul Pogba tested positive for doping in the
first round of Serie A. Currently, Pogba has been suspended as a precaution and
has three days to apply for re-testing. If the re-test confirms a positive
result, he will face a hearing at an anti-doping court and may receive a ban of
up to two years. In cases where intentional use of drugs is proven, the ban can
be extended to four years. It has been reported that Pogba’s test showed a
positive result for a testosterone metabolite. According to the collective
agreement signed between the Italian Football Federation and Serie A, the club
has the authority to withhold the salary of any player who tests positive for
doping in a post-match urine test.
