[Saba Sports News] Earlier, Tottenham officially announced that Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel has joined on loan until the end of the season, with the option for Spurs to buy him for €60 million in the summer window. In the official announcement, Tottenham stated that Tel will wear the number 11 shirt. It’s worth noting that Tottenham had previously reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich for Tel’s transfer at a fee of £50 million, but Tel himself refused to join. Now, Tel has changed his mind and decided to join Spurs on loan. Last week, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy flew to Munich to meet Tel, but Tel initially rejected Tottenham. Subsequently, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal expressed interest in Tel. However, Manchester United refused to pay the £5 million loan fee for Tel, which left an opportunity for Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou. Postecoglou called Tel to convince him that Spurs could offer him the playing time he desires. Spurs have suffered from serious injury issues this season, managing only 27 points from 24 league matches, placing them 14th in the Premier League table.
