[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the Premier League Key Match Incidents Panel has confirmed that Everton were wrongly denied a penalty in their game against Manchester City. It is reported that Everton are the only side this season not to have benefited from any favourable VAR decisions. Managed by David Moyes, Everton were leading 3-2 at Goodison Park. During a corner kick attack, Bernardo Silva pulled Everton midfielder Merlin Röhl, an incident that went unnoticed by referee Michael Oliver. VAR official Paul Howard ruled the pull took place before the corner was taken, meaning he could not intervene to award a spot kick. After the game, Moyes commented: “If that wasn’t a penalty, then football has lost all sense of order out there.”
The editor believes that it is truly hard to accept that penalty being denied. I believe most fans find this non-award extremely incomprehensible. Yet the referee made no call whatsoever, which is utterly unbelievable.
