[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the Premier League will delay the use of new semi-automated offside technology. During the FA Cup fifth-round match between Bournemouth and Wolves, the referee conducted a record video check lasting 8 minutes, leading the Premier League to decide to further postpone the introduction of semi-automated offside technology (SAOT). The FA has confirmed that it will conduct another trial in three matches during the FA Cup quarter-finals and continue to use it in the semi-finals and finals. Preston was held to a draw at home by Aston Villa in the quarter-finals, and as a Championship club, they lack the hardware to operate this system. Sources from the Premier League indicate that they hope to implement SAOT this season, but it requires support from the clubs. It could possibly be launched during the weekend of April 5-6, but some clubs question whether significant changes should be made with only 8 matches left. Last April, all clubs voted unanimously to introduce SAOT, with plans to implement it last October, but tests conducted in the stadium revealed issues with its accuracy, which were only resolved last month.
