[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the Premier League will profit £1.75 billion from new global broadcasting contracts. Reports state that Premier League Chief Media Officer Paul Molnar introduced the latest sales situation for Premier League television broadcasting rights at the latest shareholders’ meeting. Due to a new round of lucrative global broadcasting agreements, the Premier League’s income for the next three-year cycle starting from the 2025-26 season has increased by 17%, amounting to £1.75 billion. In fact, the Premier League’s global broadcasting contracts have far exceeded domestic agreements. In recent years, UK domestic broadcasters have stopped bidding frantically, and domestic agreements have stabilized. However, the situation is different outside the UK, with a recent six-year deal with Thai company Jasmine International reportedly worth $560 million for broadcasting rights in Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Due to significant growth in broadcasting contracts in the U.S. and other regions, the total income the Premier League receives from overseas broadcasters has increased by 27% in the 2022-25 cycle, giving the Premier League a financial advantage over all other domestic leagues. Additionally, Microsoft has replaced Oracle as one of the Premier League’s sponsors, further indicating a significant increase in the league’s value.
