[Saba Sports News] The misdemeanor assault charge against Detroit Pistons player Isaiah Stewart has been dismissed by the Phoenix Municipal Court, as reported by Baxter Holmes of ESPN.
This decision followed a motion to dismiss by the local prosecutor’s office. Stewart, a former first-round pick, had been accused of assaulting Drew Eubanks of the Suns before a game on February 14 in Phoenix, leading to his arrest and subsequent citation release by Phoenix police. Although he was scheduled for a court appearance later in the month, the charge has been dropped before then.
Despite this legal clearance, Stewart, who has been averaging 11.0 points and 6.8 rebounds this season, faces suspension for multiple games by the NBA following their investigation into the incident.
