[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, Paris Saint-Germain will file a civil lawsuit regarding the monkey chants incident that occurred after the first leg of the Champions League semifinal. After Paris Saint-Germain’s away victory over Arsenal, when PSG players returned to the bus, video footage showed five Arsenal fans shouting “monkey” towards the PSG players. The video, filmed by PSG staff and shared by RMC Sport, shows these fans imitating monkey sounds every time a black PSG player passed by. Arsenal Club condemned the incident. “We strongly condemn all forms of racism and discrimination. We are working to identify the individuals involved in the video and will take the harshest measures possible.” It is understood that Paris Saint-Germain will file a civil lawsuit following the incident. SOS Racisme and Sportitude will also file lawsuits in the coming days, with these anti-racism NGOs awaiting Arsenal’s response to determine the identities of those involved.
