[Saba Sports News] Last month, Adrien Rabiot faced insults from fans at Paris Saint-Germain’s home ground. In response, Rabiot’s mother, Veronica, initiated a petition to condemn such behavior. According to French media reports, Veronica launched an online petition on Monday, stating: “To respect football, put an end to personal insults in stadiums. These chants, banners, and hate speeches are not the so-called ‘traditions’ of fans; they are verbal violence, often involving sexism, racism, and defamation. They have no place in our society, and even less so within our stadiums. This is not just an individual struggle.” Veronica hopes for strict enforcement of regulations by the French Football Federation and Ligue 1, the establishment of more effective detection and sanction mechanisms, and clear statements of support from sports and media organizations when someone is the target of public or private personal attacks. She also calls for the protection of players’ families. Currently, Veronica’s petition has garnered approximately 230 signatures in support. It remains to be seen what the fans think about this.
