[Saba Sports News] Rajon Rondo is beginning his NBA coaching career with a familiar face guiding him.
According to ESPN’s Baxter Holmes, Rondo has been working with the Milwaukee Bucks in a guest coaching role during training camp, and head coach Doc Rivers confirmed Rondo will stay with the team in an unspecified capacity for the season.
Rondo expressed that he’s “learning what it looks like” to coach full-time and hasn’t decided on a specific path.
Rivers, who previously coached Rondo with the Boston Celtics, is giving him this opportunity, despite rumors linking Rondo to other teams. After retiring in April following a 16-season career, Rondo’s transition into coaching comes as no surprise, given his leadership and basketball IQ.
