[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, in the investigation of the Negreira case, Real Madrid has demanded that Barcelona submit financial audits, invoice records, and other documents from 2010 to 2021 within ten days, and they plan to claim several million euros in damages.
The reports state that with the fact of Barcelona making payments to Negreira now confirmed, it’s essential to clarify whether this behavior constitutes sports corruption. Currently, Real Madrid is almost the only party consistently pushing for the investigation. A few months ago, Real Madrid successfully extended the case’s investigation deadline to March 1, which is seen as their first step in the matter.
On December 24, Real Madrid formally requested through judicial procedures that Barcelona provide financial audit reports, due diligence documents, and invoice records from 2010 to 2021 within ten days, while also asking for the payment budget documents to the involved companies from 2010 to 2018. Reportedly, Real Madrid is requesting a total of 625 documents from Barcelona to trace the flow of funds and determine their ultimate destination.
