[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Nico Paz has been informed that Real Madrid will activate their buy-back clause. This clause was included in the transfer agreement signed in the summer of 2024 by Real Madrid, Como, and the player himself to finalize the Argentine international’s move to Serie A. The player’s development and on-field impact in Serie A are beyond doubt, and Real Madrid believe the time has come for him to return. When the original transfer was completed, the player signed a supplementary contract with Real Madrid regarding a potential future comeback, a standard practice for such deals; otherwise, the buy-back provision would be rendered meaningless. This does not mean the terms of his return are fixed. If a player performs far better than expected — as Nico Paz is doing right now — the relevant terms are likely to be adjusted. The deadline for exercising the buy-back right is May 30th, yet Real Madrid have already confirmed that the academy graduate’s future lies in a return to the Bernabéu.
The editor believes that several clubs have expressed interest in signing Nico Paz. Yet, much like most players graduated from Real Madrid’s youth system, Real Madrid retains full initiative. It can either arrange his eventual return to the club or prevent him from joining any undesirable sides.
