[Saba Sports News] The Cleveland Cavaliers could see significant interest in guard Darius Garland if they decide to trade him.
In a recent mailbag post, Evan Dammarell of Right Down Euclid suggested that if Garland were to request a trade, he would likely prefer an Eastern Conference team that could maximize his opportunities. Potential suitors include the Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards, and Toronto Raptors.
Additionally, several Western Conference teams, such as the San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, and New Orleans Pelicans, are reportedly interested in Garland.
While there’s no certainty that Garland will be traded, there are suggestions he might seek an exit if the Cavaliers commit long-term to Donovan Mitchell. However, with four years left on his five-year deal, Garland has limited leverage if the Cavaliers choose not to move him.
Last season, Garland was limited to 57 games and saw a drop in his stats with Mitchell’s arrival, but he still averaged 18 points and 6.5 assists in 33.4 minutes per game.
