[Saba Sports News] The summer of 2023 could be remembered as Rich Paul’s season of success. Paul, the CEO and founder of Klutch Sports, recently added another feather to his cap by securing a lucrative four-year contract extension for forward Jarred Vanderbilt with the L.A. Lakers.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Paul’s latest deal with Vanderbilt has pushed his total player salary negotiations for this NBA offseason to nearly $900 million, a staggering figure.
Paul, a prominent sports agent who established Klutch Sports in 2012, represents some of the most prominent basketball players globally. This summer alone, he has orchestrated high-value contracts for players like Anthony Davis (three years, $186 million with the Lakers), Draymond Green (four years, $100 million with Golden State), and Fred VanVleet (three years, $130 million with Houston).
Notably, Paul has also secured significant deals for his secondary clients, including Jerami Grant (five years, $160 million with Portland), Dejounte Murray (four years, $120 million with Atlanta), and Jordan Clarkson (three years, $55 million with Utah).
It’s worth mentioning that Paul’s close friend and most prominent client, Lakers star LeBron James, isn’t included in this calculation. Nonetheless, James has been vocal in praising Paul’s achievements, and it’s easy to understand why.
