[Saba Sports News] According to British tabloid The Sun, robot dogs manufactured by World Cup sponsor Hyundai will be deployed for security patrols at the Dallas International Broadcast Center. Equipped with built-in surveillance cameras, these quadruped robots can walk and even dance.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino visited the broadcast center at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas last week. He praised the technology, noting that the World Cup has embraced increasingly advanced tech, artificial intelligence and professional expertise. He added that Hyundai’s Spot security robots will help create a safe and secure environment for all.
Infantino also announced on social media that the Dallas International Broadcast Center is now officially operational and will house the VAR operations room. Dallas will host nine matches during this World Cup, more than any other host city.
In my view, the center houses sensitive facilities including the VAR control room and broadcasting equipment, making it one of the highest-security venues for the tournament. Quadruped robots serve as a practical aid for automated patrols, yet their use must comply with privacy and security regulations.
