[Saba Sports News] Even after 17 seasons in the NBA, Russell Westbrook remains as unapologetically himself as ever.
Following the Denver Nuggets’ crushing 125-93 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 of their second-round playoff series, Westbrook delivered a vintage moment off the court.
In the game, he struggled with just 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists on 2-of-7 shooting, and posted a game-worst -34 in just 22 minutes off the bench.
After the game, Denver Gazette reporter Vinny Benedetto asked Westbrook whether he had decided on picking up his player option for next season.
In response, Westbrook glanced at his watch and asked Benedetto what he planned to wear tomorrow. When the reporter replied that he didn’t know, Westbrook simply said, “Exactly,” and walked off.
It was a quintessentially Westbrook moment—sarcastic, deflective, and perfectly on brand for a player who’s always marched to the beat of his own drum.
