[Saba Sports News] Russell Westbrook earned a thunderous ovation Saturday after being hit with a technical foul during the Denver Nuggets’ Game 7 blowout win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
With the Nuggets up 105-76 and the game well in hand, Westbrook stole the ball from Ivica Zubac and raced downcourt for an uncontested, emphatic two-handed dunk.
He hung on the rim just long enough to draw an automatic technical, but instead of backing down, Westbrook leaned into the moment—mocking the referee’s gesture and shouting to the crowd with a profane, fired-up message:
“I don’t give a f—! Get your a— home! Get your motherf—ing a— home!”
The home crowd at Ball Arena erupted, and social media quickly followed suit, praising the raw energy from the nine-time All-Star.
Clippers guard Norman Powell sank the ensuing free throw to cut the lead to 107-77, though the point was irrelevant in the Nuggets’ eventual 120-101 win.
Westbrook finished with 16 points off the bench—more than half of Denver’s bench scoring—and easily outshined former teammate James Harden, who faced widespread criticism for another poor playoff performance. Westbrook may no longer be at his All-Star peak, but his impact and fire clearly haven’t faded.
